RICHARD
P. SMITH, 1930 First Edition 7.75”
Tall x 5.25” wide. 198 pages.
THE
VOLUME:
VERY GOOD condition. Very clean boards
and pages. Nearly new appearance. Minimal edge wear if any.
Upper front board corner is bumped with small crease. Previous
owner (a missionary to India I'm told) has written her name
neatly on the inner front board.
THE
DUST JACKET: GOOD+
to VERY GOOD original dust
jacket depicting cultures around the world. Some chips and
closed tears along the edges. The red on the spine is slightly
faded. The price is still present on the front flap of the dust
jacket.
THE
PURPOSE: Harry Thomas Stock writes: “Miss
Miller is original and helps you to be original. She is full of
ideas, and encourages you to use your own. Her stunts are not
difficult; they require little rehearsing. They modernize
mythology, history and fiction. They are funny and sometimes
gaily absurd, and never cheap or trivial. The fine detailed
party plans which compose the second part of the volume will put
many a social chairman at ease and will win the plaudits of both
the socially inclined and the sober souls who seldom bend or
laugh.”
Games
and skits for parties, etc. Even includes music. From the
library of a Christian Missionary to India.
