RDIF = Radio Frequency Identification DVD Radio Frequency Identification is a controversial technology that uses tiny microchips to transmit information at a distance. These RFID microchips have earned the nickname "spy chips" because the data they contain can be read silently and invisibly by radio waves without an individual's knowledge or consent. The technology has long been the target of criticism by privacy and civil liberties groups.

Yes, and bar codes and RFID both belong to a group of technologies called Automatic Identification and Data Capture. Along with Smart cards, and Magnetic Stripe technology and a host of others, this is a method of automating our need for data.
We have all become very aware of bar codes as they have permeated our existence in the last 25 years. In fact, it is tough to buy something in a store that does not use bar codes these days. But bar codes have four disadvantages that it would be nice to eliminate:
1. You have to be able to see them
2. The bar code cannot be written on or defaced
3. You cannot change the data once they are printed
4. They take up space on the object they are printed on
"For these financial institutions to put RFID in credit cards, one of the most sensitive items we carry, is absolute lunacy," said Dr. Katherine Albrecht.
Researchers are showing how a thief could skim information from the cards right through purses, clothing, backpacks and wallets. This information includes the cardholder's name, credit card number, expiration date and other data that would be sufficient to make unauthorized purchases. They say the information could even be used to identify and track people, a scenario Albrecht and co-author Liz McIntyre lay out in their book, "Spy chips: How Major Corporations and Government Plan to Track Your Every Purchase and Watch Your Every Move.!"

Two Questions We Are Usually Asked: 1) Are your CDs Mac Compatible? None of our CDs have been designed specifically for Mac use, and there is no guarantee that any of our CDs will work with Macintosh computers as well. However, if you are an experienced Mac user and are familiar with the program Virtual PC, or other similiar program, then you should be able to run any given one of our CDs without problems. We can offer no assistance however in this situation and by purchasing any given CD to use on a Mac computer you do so at completely at your own risk. 2) What are the system requirements for CDs and will they work with XP? Currently all of our CDs are compatible with Windows 95 and above...yes this includes 95/98/2000/ME/NT/XP/etc. It is recommended that you have at least a 90 MHz processor with at least 32 MB of RAM.
