This is a beautiful brown and white transferware calendar plate from Alfred Meakin, Staffordshire. The brim of the plate has calendars for each month alternating with signs of the Zodiac. There is a lovely picture of a farm with a farmer working and animals about and the legend, "God Bless Our House Throughout 1972".
The plate is ivory with brown transfers and a scalloped, embossed edge. The backstamp reads;

The plate measures 9" in diameter and is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or crazing ~ there are two flea bites on the back. |
