Prang Folding Panoramic - Antique Lithographed Victorian Christmas Greeting Card. "A Merry Christmas" illustrated with pansys in sepia tones opens up to moonlit scenes of carollers and birds in artistic framework. "As fits the holy Christmas birth, Be this, good friends, our carol still, 'Be peace on earth...'" Dated 1880, published by L. Prang & Co., Boston. Measures 4-1/4 by 3 inches folded, 8-1/2 by 3 unfolded. Slight surface wear. Creased fold on one side is starting to split open at the bottom edge.
Each item is an original card from a late-nineteenth century scrapbook. The image, printed by color lithography, is a chromolithograph, or "chromo."
