Pond's Extract, The Vegetable Pain Destroyer. Antique Lithographed Victorian Trade Card Advertising. Nicely detailed print depicts a boy riding a black pony, with a large dog trotting along carrying a basket with flowers and a package of Pond's. Advertising text on the back side; looks like the card was trimmed at the top, the words are cut. Card measures 4 by 2-1/2 inches. Back is yellowed and there's some light peeling of the surface.
This item is an original card from a late-nineteenth century scrapbook. The image, printed by color lithography, is a chromolithograph, or "chromo."
