As a hobby I have collected over the years many Apple II items (mostly from eBay in its early years) and they are taking up space. To make room for my family I have sold some items here a while ago and I am now selling more of them. My first computer was an Apple II+ clone and so I know something about these items. I'll try to answer questions to the best of my knowledge.
This is the Orange Micro Grappler+ Printer Interface for Apple II, II plus, IIe and IIgs circa 1983.
The Grappler+ is one of the most popular and well known graphics parallel printer cards for the Apple II series. It prints text as well as graphics and allows most parallel printers to work with the Apple II, II plus, IIe and IIgs including the Hewlett Packard Laser Jet series. Most software recognizes the Grappler+ as an option for printer interfacing. In fact, on the Apple IIgs, the only parallel printer card recommend by Tony Diaz at “apple2.info” is the Orange Micro Grappler+, along with the Harmony GS/OS printer driver package available from Vitesse. A historic item great for the Apple II enthusiasts and collectors.
This Grappler+ (S/N: AEQ 584) has Rev. 3.3 firmware and Rev. B PCB. It has three jumper wires on the back but I believe it is a more recent model because location U10 is a 74LS374 and according to this article from Apple Computer, and so is compatible with the IIgs. Secondly, pin-2 on the connector is broken but will not affect its operation because pin-2 and about half of the pins are grounded and are not used for signals. You can also see in the picture that the cable has no wire connected to pin-2.
Includes: Used parallel printer interface card (made in USA), shielded round connecting cable with 36-pin male Centronics connector. Softcopy of the users manual could also be found here.
Item is sold AS IS. No return or exchange. PayPal payment only. Item is actually located in Hong Kong and will be shipped in its original box paper wrapped. Shipment by Hong Kong Post uninsured airmail to US is $8. Other locations please enquire.
