This is the official Slackware 96 from Walnut Creek released in August 1996. Linux is a Unix clone developed by Linus Torvalds and thousands of volunteers on the Internet. Slackware Linux by Patrick Volkerding is an advance Linux Operating System designed with the twin goals of ease of use and stability as top priority. The item is a four CD disc set boxed and rarely used. A historic item great for the Linux collectors and enthusiasts (… for that retro computer project?).
Includes: the first CDROM contains the easy to install Linux system (kernel 2.0 with support for symmetric multi-processing (SMP) up to 16 processors), source code and a live Linux file system. For the other CDROMs Patrick Volkerding carefully selected the best software from Internet Linux archives.
System Requirements: compatible with most Intel PC hardware & supports all (in those days) CDROM drives, sound, Ethernet, and mice.
