Mason and Hamlin Organ and Piano Co., Boston. Antique Lithographed Victorian Advertising Trade Card. Little girl playing "Songs Without Words" while her cat looks on and her dog howls. Marked copyright 1887 Donaldson Brothers N.Y. Nire advertising on the reverse side with an illustration of the Mason and Hamlin Screw-stringer, "an improved method of Stringing." Card measures 3-1/4 by 5 inches. Slight surface and edge wear. Reverse side is yellowed and some surface paper peeled off.
Each item is an original card from a late-nineteenth century scrapbook. The image, printed by color lithography, is a chromolithograph, or "chromo."
