Jayne's Tonic, Kortright NY - Antique Lithographed Victorian Advertising Trade Card. "Naughy Puss!" The bad cat has scratched the little girl's arm and is still clawing at her dress. Advertising on the back for Jayne's Tonic Vermifuge and other products, for sale by The Postmaster, West Kortright, Delaware Co., New York. Printed by Major & Knapp Lith. Co. NY. The illustration is "twelfth of our series." "Simple as the incident which has served the artist in this case is, we hope the care taken with the execution of the card will be appreciated ... once a COLD is contracted, it should have prompt treatment." Card measures 3 by 4-1/2 inches. Slight surface wear; lower left corner is creased and chipped. Yellowed on back.
Each item is an original card from a late-nineteenth century scrapbook. The image, printed by color lithography, is a chromolithograph, or "chromo."
