| "American Felt Craft", American Handicrafts Co, Inc., 1947. After World War II, many women were back home from the factories and putting their energies into homemaking and handicrafts. This 24 page illustrated ideas and instruction book is one result. It contains patterns and designs for a variety of items made from felt -- "belts, bags, boleros, applique, pillows, hats, pennants, purses, toys, coasters" -- over 50 items in all. (The hats are especially cool!) Throughout the book are advertisements for Amco felt, made by the American Felt Co, "manufacturers of highest quality wool felt and felt products." There's even an ancient French legend about how felt was first made.
Fun to browse, practical to use for vintage retro and modern projects.
