     Heartland is based on the story of Elinore Randall, who in 1910 traveled with her 7-year-old daughter to the far reaches of this country, Burntfork, Wy. That is where she met her new employer and saw the beauty of this country and learned about its brutal winters. The movie is understated and beautifully filmed. A true story of survival and pioneer life, based on Randall’s writing about her dream of trying to homestead her own land.
