Our new “German Style” chasing hammer is a high quality tool. The handle is hardwood featuring a wedge and oblong hole to keep the head from turning. The large face is flat and the pein side is slanted for better ergonomics when striking metal. This is a more popular style with European silversmiths, and preferred by many worldwide. The head is high grade stainless steel which has been case-hardened for long life.

There are cheaper chasing hammers available, but ours are better engineered with a metal wedge and oblong hole in the head to assure that handles do not loosen and twist. So in the long run, you’ll be happier with our quality, aside from years of service.
HAMMER TIP If you are in a dry climate where wood shrinks and the handle becomes slightly loose, simply put the head in a jar of anti-freeze overnight and it will tighten and stay tight.
