Introverted Jodie Greenwood (Jane Horrocks) lives with her domineering mother (Imelda Staunton) and her equally hen-pecked sister Beth (Brenda Fricker). Inspired on a book on legendary murderers, Jodie gets some lethal lessons from the masters of mayhem. Soon, Jack the Ripper (Sir John Mills) and his friends are appearing before her and teaching her how to take Mom out of the picture permanantly! But Jodie's new homocidal hobby leads to a host of problems... problems that can only be solved with some deadly advice.
