Cushman's Menthol Inhaler, Mich. - Antique Lithographed Victorian Advertising Trade Card. Victorian beauty with curls around her feathered cap advertises "Catarrh, Neuralgia & Headache. No More!! Cures Diseases of the Head including Hay-Fever, Colds & Bronchitis. Man'f'd by H.D. Cushman, Three Rivers, Michigan." Printed by Gies & Co., Buffalo, N.Y. Advertising on the back: "...so constructed that crystals of pure Menthol are held in a glass tube ...destroying disease germs and miasm..." Measures 2-3/4 by 4-1/2; printed on heavy paper. Right edge chipped. Back is yellowed, with glue and paper residue, some surface paper peeling.
Each item is an original card from a late-nineteenth century scrapbook. The image, printed by color lithography, is a chromolithograph, or "chromo."
