Corticelli, Nonotuck Silk Co., Set of 2 antique lithographed Victorian Trade Cards. "Best is the Cheapest Corticelli Spool Silk & Twist. Florence Knitting Silk." The 2 cards illustrate a gentleman trying to pick a water flower with his cane, but he falls in and his lady is dismayed. Advertising on the back for Corticelli brand Sewing Silk and Twist,"the Very Best Silk made." Cards measure 3-1/8 by 4-5/8 inches. Slight surface wear.
Each item is an original card from a late-nineteenth century scrapbook. The image, printed by color lithography, is a chromolithograph, or "chromo."
