Congratulations - Flunked German - Comic Postcards 1906. Lot of 10 antique comic postcards teasing a classmate who flunked her German language class. All dated August 1906, with undivided backs. Sent to Lulu O'Brien in New Auburn, Wisconsin. She needed 75 points to pass the class, but only scored 73. Cards include handwritten messages personalizing the printed texts. "Any way you figure it, .. it is 73"; Just a little 'Con Talk' ... about flunking in German - 73"; "To set you right on one or two points ... in German 73"; with lady fencer, "She never touched me, ... I got seventy three. In German"; with telephone pole sign "Don't travel. Telephone" - "I was shocked to learn it; That's a live wire"; and more. Some surface and edge wear on face sides. Light glue residue and some peeling on address sides from removal from old scrap album.
