Bridget Loves Bernie was a reasonably successful 1970s comedy about the marriage of two young people from vastly different backgrounds. The show starred Meredith Baxter as a Catholic girl from a wealthy family and David Birney as a Jewish boy with ambitions to be a writer (the two married in real life after the program ended). A great supporting cast featured David Doyle, Audra Lindley and Harold J Stone.
The series focused on the differences between the families and how the young married couple tried to bridge the gaps between them. Lots of laugh out loud moments, but sadly it was cancelled after only one season. This is a 5 DVD set with 23 episodes. |
