Celluloid Eye Glasses - Antique Lithographed Victorian Trade Card. Card cut in shape of an artist's palette advertising "Perfection" pince nez frames with a C-shaped spring, a thin strip that sits above the nose. Sold by "Joshua C. Batcheldor, Waterboro York Co., Maine. S.O.M. Co. Pat. Mar. 13. 77. [1877] on each pair." Reverse is blank. Card measures 5 by 3 inches. Light surface wear. Back with slight glue residue.
Each item is an original card from a late-nineteenth century scrapbook. The image, printed by color lithography, is a chromolithograph, or "chromo."
