Appleton Fountain Pen, Boston, Massachusetts. Antique Lithographed Victorian Advertising Trade Card. Advertising on back: "A practical fountain pen, always ready for use. with 16 kt. Gold Pen, $2.50. B.W. & H.S. Child, Boston." Printed by Bufford. Measures 3-7/8 by 2-3/8 inches. Corners lightly bumped and creased, back lightly yellowed.
Each item is an original card from a late-nineteenth century scrapbook. The image, printed by color lithography, is a chromolithograph, or "chromo."
