Restored FACSIMILE copy
of the dust jacket, which sold with the A. L. Burt early
reprint edition.
The jacket was made from a scan of an original in very good
condition, printed on one sheet of acid-free paper by an
archival inkjet printer (60-80 yr. inks), and preserved in
archival plastic.
THE
STORY: Edgar Quentin
Bartholomew, a millionaire, has been found dead in bed, his
death hastened by poison. During his life, he had made two
wills, one of which he had destroyed, but he dies before he is
able to reveal the hiding place of the remaining will.
The
heirs of the dead man are his daughter, a beautiful young woman
and two rival nephews, among whom had existed a friendly
comradeship during the millionaire's life, but after his death
this is transformed into sullen silence, fear and fast-growing
hatred.
The
solving of this gripping mystery of the poisoning of Bartholomew
and the finding of the missing will is well and cleverly handled
by an author who is no novice to readers of worth-while
detective stories.
