A.
L. BURT, REPRINT, 1927 7.5”
Tall x 5.5” wide. 329 pages, plus ads.
THE
VOLUME:
VERY GOOD+ condition. Very clean boards
and pages. I only saw a couple faint smudges on the edge of the
first blank end paper. Hinges wholly intact. Book feels very
tight and sturdy. Very neat, small previous owner's signature on
the reverse side of the first end paper.
THE
DUST JACKET: VERY
GOOD+ As the photo shows
this dust jacket is in incredibly good shape for its age—or
any age. Some very light soiling or age-darkening to the white
background. There is a scratch on the first “L” in the title
at upper spine, which can be seen in the photo. I see some glare
on the lower spine of my photo as well, which could be
misleading. The publisher's name is all there in very good
condition. Some very short, nearly invisible 1/4” closed edge
tears. Jacket flaps have been price-clipped.
As you
can see from the reviews quoted on the dust jacket, this WWI
tale was widely acclaimed. I found only two on the internet with
dust jackets (one in poor condition, one in fair condition) and
they were asking $45.00 & $50.00.
