English ivy a fast growing evergreen plant used as a container plant, perfect groundcovers, spreading horizontally and reaching 8" in height. But they are also climbers, due to their aerial rootlets, which allow them to climb to heights of 50' or more. It is a vine which climbs up trees, cliffs, walls and fences. Remove a few leaves and cover the aerial roots with dirt and keep watered until you see more growth, then let nature care for it. Prune when needed.
Full Sun, Partial Sun. Plant spacing: Plant 18 inches apart, 100 plants cover a 225 square foot area. Don't let this plant grow on your house, it can cause damage.
Really cute idea, use an old chair and let the ivy cover it, prune to keep the shape of chair, create animal shapes a fun project for you and the children! Makes a fast and great privacy screen.
