**Note the spot on the top in the 1st pic is from my camera. There is nothing on the top.**
Here is a pretty blue wool chenille sweater skirt dress set. The sweater has 3/4 batwing style sleeves with a turn up 1 3/4" cuff, buttons down the front with covered buttons and high behind the neckline collar to be worn up or down and 1 3/4” of ribbing at the bottom. Skirt is ribbed and has elastic in the waist. It is nice and soft with a lot of stretch to it. This style was made without a belt.
Label: “Lofties Designed by Lawrence”
Fabric: 100% Wool Chenille
It is in very good vintage condition. There are no holes, pulls, stains or damage to the knit. I have never worn it because it turns out that I bought 2 of these just alike! So my loss is your gain!
The chenille wool is a lighter wool and is very soft and not scratchy!
Please enlarge the pictures.
The suit is shown on my dress form that has been let down to its smallest size which is a today’s size 6. So I would say it is probably a small to medium but it has lots of stretch. At least 10" in some areas! So please referred to the measurements below before you buy.
Bust: about 34” (un-stretched) to 40" (stretched)
Waist: 24” (stretches to 36")
Shoulder to shoulder: 16"
Waist: 24” (stretches to 32”)
Hips: (about 8” down from the waist) 30” (stretches to 48”)
Length: Skirt 30”
This set is clean. It has been hand washed in a special wash for woolens that has Tea Tree Oil in it for removal of dust mites. I have treated all my vintage sweater dresses and skirt sets to this treatment. Therefore there are no odors.
There is only one flaw. The covered buttons are covered over metal buttons and over the years the buttons have rusted under the cloth given a darker color to the buttons. (see pic) I have other suits that had this flaw. I changed to buttons the plastic buttons and even one I painted over the buttons with a fabric paint. Otherwise this suit is in very good vintage condition for a 50-60 year old set and is ready to wear!
