Hello potential customers and BluJay members. Thank you for viewing and considering some of my fine titanium watches, rings, bracelets, and necklaces. I would like to share an interesting fact that has been brought to my attention about titanium jewelry. Did you know that nearly all the fine jewelry made from titanium comes from disassembled and recycled aircraft? I didn't, until I was watching an episode of "How It's Made" on the Discovery Science channel. They stated some interesting facts about titanium, how most of the titanium mined goes to become  titanium dioxide, and is used in the manufacture of white pigments. Other compounds of titanium are used in smoke screens/skywriting and in the production of polypropylene. Very little, only about 4% of the mined titanium ore goes to become metal. This is one of the reasons for the jewelry being made from recycled titanium. Avionics manufacturing regulations disallows the use of recycled metals in aircraft manufacturing. So, thus, frees up tons of recycled titanium metal for other uses, like fine jewelry. I think it is fun and exciting to think that my watch and necklace may have seen actual dog-fighting and or at least been able to fly in it's previous form!!!
