DORAN,
1925 First Edition
THE VOLUME:
Very sturdy, square, and
predominantly very clean book inside and out. A few faint spots
on the inner board and first endpaper and some light spots on
the spine. Edges of the textblock have darkened. Very nice
interior pages. Hinges are wholly intact. A previous owner wrote
and dated their name very discreetly on the inside corner of
first endpaper. The ink was still wet when they closed the book
so there is a miror image on the inner board's corner. Very
little edgewear at all. Board corners are still quite sharp.
THE DUSTJACKET:
A Carefully Restored FACSIMILE
copy of the beautiful first edition dust jacket, which
sold with this edition.
The jacket was made from a scan of an original in very good
condition, printed on one sheet of acid-free paper by an
archival inkjet printer (60-80 yr. inks), and preserved in
archival plastic.
THE STORY:
Surprisingly for a book this age,
the dust jacket does not give a clue to the story-line, although
the publishers had this to say: “The Red Lamp
at once takes its place as one of the really great mystery
novels of modern literature. From the opening page to the final
solution of the mystery in the last chapter the reader is
spellbound by its intricacies, its romance, and its superb
style.”

times from Alaska will take longer than from other states. At
minimum two weeks should be expected for media mail. As much as
four weeks is possible. If that sounds too onerous, please
consider priority mail.
