GROSSET
& DUNLAP, 1909 A
rare vintage mystery, hoping to find an appreciative mystery
lover's home. I'm offering the book for the price of
the dust jacket alone. Cover
and dust jacket art by Harrison
Fisher. Lovely Interior illustrations by George
T. Knight.
THE
VOLUME: FAIR+ to GOOD
copy. Paste-down is faintly soiled, rubbed, faded, with very
fine scratches. Covers and gilt have darkened. White lettering
on the spine is nearly rubbed away. (See photo.) The spine leans
slightly.
Interior
of the book is predominantly clean. Faint soiling and smudging
on a number of pages. Hinges are wholly intact. I saw gaps
between signatures in three places. One page was loose and
successfully repaired. This prompted me to flip through the
entire book one page at a time. I found one page that had two
small holes in it. Very strange. I scanned my own copy and
repaired the pages. It turned out well I think. (See photos of
blemished page and repairs.)
THE
DUSTJACKET: A FACSIMILE
copy of the lovely, scarce Harrison Fisher jacket, which
sold with this edition made from a scan of an original in
very good condition, printed on one sheet of acid-free paper by
an archival ink jet printer (80 yr. inks), and preserved in
archival plastic.
