Ivorine Cleanser Williams Glastonbury Antique Lithographed Victorian Advertising Trade Card. Illustration of "A Practical Joke," a girl pouring Ivorine soap over a boy's hair to turn it white. Advertising on the back: "Use it, and clothes, money, and life will last longer." Manufactured by Williams Bros. in Glastonbury, Connecticut. Printed by Kellogg and Bulkeley, Hartford. Card measures 2-1/2 by 4 inches. Slight edge wear; yellowing on the back from glue residue.
Each item is an original card from a late-nineteenth century scrapbook. The image, printed by color lithography, is a chromolithograph, or "chromo."
