Higgins' German Laundry Soap Antique Lithographed Victorian Advertising Trade Card. On board a ship, a sailor and his girl. Advertising on the back: "Ask your Grocer … it is put up in blue wrappers. L. A. Perkins, Agent, Boston. Factories, Brooklyn." Printed by Brown, Steam Job Printer, Malden. Measures 3 by 4-1/2 inches. Light surface and edge wear, creasing, bumped corners. Back is lightly yellowed from age-toning.
Each item is an original card from a late-nineteenth century scrapbook. The image, printed by color lithography, is a chromolithograph, or "chromo."
