This paperback is Jean Offenberg's account of 'LONELY WARRIOR' published by Corgi Books in the UK in 1958. Book is in reasonable condition, (see picture). 252 pages. Picture is of actual book.
SYNOPSIS: As the Germans overran Europe in 1940 Jean Offenberg left his native Belgium to carry on the fight by joining the RAF. He took part in the Battle of Britain when handfuls of Hurricanes and Spitfires hurled themselves against the enemy. The grim task of holding off the invader affected him deeply. His hands calloused by the controls of the Spitfire, he scribbled down his eye-witness account of the day's battles. This is the story that he wrote - the story of a fighter.
