Crescent Pottery George Jones & Sons England: Antique Black Transferware 11" Dinner Charger Plate
This magnificent plate was made sometime between 1907 and 1921, judging by the backstamp. Bright art deco design against a white background, beneath a geometrically embossed rim. In the center is an idealized landscape of castles beside a river, two men on horseback crossing a stone Roman arch bridge, with the sun setting between the mountains in the background -- a scene right out of Shangri-La.
What a striking display piece on a wall or in a cabinet!
Size: 11 inches in diameter, this sturdy glazed earthenware charger weighs 1 pound 10 ounces out of the package.
Excellent condition. No cracks or utensil marks; one tiny (1/8") flake on the back side of the rim, not visible from the front (and easily missed even from the back). Overall clean crazing appropriate to its age. See photo of actual item.
Also listed is a companion plate with an idealized farm scene in the middle. Multiple item and combined shipping discounts apply. |

If you change your mind on payment method and can't change the invoice, don't worry -- just let me know.
Stated shipping rates cover the cost of shipping across the country. I've learned from hard experience to use USPS Priority Mail for breakable items; otherwise the quote refers to the cheapest shipping method (usually, USPS Parcel Post, UPS Ground, or USPS Media Mail for books and videos). I will adjust your invoice to your area, usually in less than 24 hours of your order. If you are in a hurry and pay immediately without waiting for me to adjust your invoice, you'll receive the amount of your overpayment back, either as an online refund or tucked inside your package.
To request a different shipping method or add insurance, please let me know BEFORE YOU PAY. In general, media items (books, videos) are shipped via media mail (4-9 day delivery within the continental US, longer if "bumped" by the USPS) unless otherwise specified or requested in advance.
International buyers are WELCOME!! Please allow me to adjust your shipping fee on the invoice before you pay. Contact me and I'll be happy to provide you with a shipping quote.
SATISFACTION GUARANTEE accompanies every item - contact me if you are not delighted with your purchase.
SALES are offered from time to time ... and you'll receive your discount in the form of a refund if you pay before I can adjust your invoice.
