Gold Rimmed 10-inch Cabinet Plate, Historical American West Railroad Scene,
Hutschenreuther S T W Bavaria Beehive Mark
Absolutely gorgeous and very unusual collector plate, its colorful center depicting the birth of the railroad in the American West, entitled "U.S.A 1869" and ringed in gold, deep hunter green, gold flowers and flourishes, and wide gold rim. On the back is stamped "Hutschenreuther" overlaid with a green shield marked "S T Bavaria Germany", beside which is the prestigious gold "Beehive" mark.
This is a wonderful addition to a plate collection, and, with its historical content -- the train engine guarded by a US marshall on horseback, smokestack puffing across the rugged Western countryside -- likely to be admired by a wider audience than most.
Dimensions: 10.5 inches in diameter.
