Rare Wendy Lawton Travel Teddy Bear Exclusive for Springhouse Dolls 1997 Event

This impossible to find teddy bear was made by Wendy Lawton for a Wendy Lawton-attended event at Springhouse Dolls & Gifts in Port Orchard, Washington on August 16, 1997. Ms. Lawton unveiled her then-new Travel Doll at the event, which consisted of a tea followed by a slide presentation of Lawton's 1997 dolls. Each person who paid to attend the event was given a 3" tall jointed bear wearing a red coat (to match the new travel doll's ensemble) that was made by Wendy Lawton exclusively for this event. The number made was very small, less than 50 for sure, but I don't remember exactly how many. This teddy comes in his own oval box with the label on the lid reading 'The Lawton Travel Teddy Port Orchard, WA Springhouse Dolls & Gifts August 16, 1997'. I've never seen another of these bears for sale in the 10 years since the event was held so I have no idea on current value. Don't miss this rare opportunity to add this bear to your collection!
