The southern gangsta sound of Skip's debut album LIVE FROM HOLLYGROVE is full of laid-back, funky grooves and confidently delivered rhymes about the thug life. This combination is hardly a new paradigm, but as he shows throughout this disc, Skip has the sound down cold. Though he portrays himself as the hardest gangsta on the block, detailing the violence and crime in which he immerses himself, Skip is no jar-headed thug.
