Imperial - Art Glass Line (Jewels) Rose Ice Vase
Production: Imperial Glass Company Location: Bellaire, Ohio, USA Ca. 1915 - 1930
This vase is from Imperial Glass in their Art Glass Line. This particular vase is unusual since they have
decided to iridize only the interior of the vase. Extremely heavy crystal glass. Rose Ice is their name for
the lighter color of marigold found on this vase. The vase Stands 8 in tall (20.32 cm). This particular piece
is unmarked. There is a spot of overbold iridizing that I have shown in the second photo. Introduced in 1915,
The Art Glass Line is commonly called "Imperial Jewels" by collectors. This line is a true stretch glass, but
appears to have been double-doped. They are all "stuck up" pieces and they were obviously iridized, shaped
and iridized again. This results in some fantastic iridescent effects. Most of the Art Glass pieces are
marked with the traditional "iron cross" mark though this is not always the case. Not to be confused with the
later iteration from the 1950's-70's.
*NOTE* - The blackglass plinth is not included in this listing.
Absolutely no chips, cracks, or repairs.
An excellent example of this rare and prized line from Imperial.
