Graves, Buffalo, New York, Corn Starch - Antique Lithographed Victorian Advertising Trade Card. Gilbert S. Graves, advertising for Mirror Gloss Corn Starch, "None better. -- Try it." Child with mirror reflection, artistic pillow and background. Printed by Major- Knapp Lith. Co., N.Y. Reverse is blank. Measures 2-5/8 by 4-1/4 inches. Light surface wear. Edges chipped, heavy crease on left side. Back with some glue staining and surface paper peeling in 2 edge spots.
Each item is an original card from a late-nineteenth century scrapbook. The image, printed by color lithography, is a chromolithograph, or "chromo."
