Deering Cutting Machines, Chicago - Antique Lithographed Victorian Advertising Trade Card. Lovely circular card with young girl crowned with wreath of wheat and flowers. Advertising on back: "This is to remind you that during the past season Deering Grain and Grass-Cutting Machines have been sold in greater numbers, and have done better work than any other kind. Do not fail to examine and purchase the Deering whenever you want a first-class harvesting machine. Wm. Deering & Co." Also on back, faintly see stamp of "Smith, Genl. Agt., Rochester, N.Y." Measures 3-7/8 inches across. Surface lightly worn, lightly creased. Back with some glue and album paper residue, lightly yellowed.
Each item is an original card from a late-nineteenth century scrapbook. The image, printed by color lithography, is a chromolithograph, or "chromo."
