The DVD Game(TM). Hosted by popular ESPN anchor Dan Patrick, Scene It? Sports Powered by ESPN is a fun, dynamic DVD game that brings athletes and highlights to life. The only game to bring the major sports leagues together is now available nationwide.
Scene It? Sports Powered by ESPN features real game highlights and hundreds of popular athletes, including Lance Armstrong, Dwyane Wade, Wayne Gretzky, Donovan McNabb, Cal Ripken Jr., Mia Hamm and Jack Nicklaus. Scene It? Sports Powered by ESPN showcases images and replays from great sporting events and scenes from sports movies. Fans can relive exhilarating moments like Bobby Thomson's 'shot heard 'round the world', and classic moments such as Franco Harris' 'Immaculate Reception.' Scene It? enhances traditional board-game play with DVD content and exciting visual puzzles.
"For more than 25 years, ESPN has entertained sports enthusiasts worldwide," said Patrick, who anchors SportsCenter. "Scene It? Sports Powered by ESPN will challenge all sports fans with a competitive edge. It's a great game that captures the spirit of ESPN: game highlights, content, entertainment, trivia and premier athletes."
Dave Long, co-founder and CEO of Screenlife said: "Whether or not their side won or lost, sports fans will remember the classic moments featured in Scene It? Sports, such as Doug Flutie's 'Hail Mary' pass in the classic Boston College vs. Miami football game."
A mixture of real sports and sports pop culture, Scene It? Sports Powered by ESPN is a one-of-a-kind game experience. Players face off as they race around the game board to answer hundreds of sports trivia questions: What durable pitcher holds the record for the most Cy Young Awards? Who was taken as the number one overall draft pick in the 2003 NBA draft? What 2002 soccer flick was named after a world-famous soccer star?(a)
The high-speed trivia game tests players' knowledge of sports with DVD clips and puzzle categories such as:
--By the Numbers, where players identify legendary jerseys as clues are slowly revealed
--Speed Drill, where players have to be the quickest to shout out a correct answer in order to win the puzzle
--Playoff Picture, where players identify a winning team as a playoff bracket reveals itself
--Logo Logic, where players guess the team based on the logo as it materializes into focus
"Sports might be the quintessential trivia category because parents and kids share memories together of their favorite baseball and football heroes, and families and friends gather to watch big games and events," said Phil Jackson, vice president, marketing, Mattel Games. "Scene It? Sports Powered by ESPN delivers the definitive sports trivia game, whether you're looking to inspire a friendly rivalry or earn bragging rights among your family and friends."
Scene It? Sports Powered by ESPN unveils a new game-play option for competitive players who want to up the ante on their game. The Vegas-style game play gives players the option of taking away the game board and incorporating poker chips and dice for an intensified sports trivia playoff.
Screenlife's proprietary Optreve(R) DVD Enhancement Technology randomizes on screen challenges, so Scene It? Sports Powered by ESPN can be played again and again. The game features Scene It? trivia and images from all major sports and contains a DVD with more than 700 on-screen challenges; hundreds of trivia card questions; a Flextime(R) game board and sports-themed collectible game pieces.
The Scene It? portfolio of games is recognized as family-friendly with great value and innovative game play. The TV Edition of Scene It? was named "Game of the Year" during 2005 Toy Fair in New York City.
