Harker made a lot of stoneware in this unusual color, "Coral Sand": some plain, some with white cameo designs, like Dogwood or Springtime. So, this plain bowl would serve as a good replacement for a number of different sets. Its large size also makes it desirable as a stand-alone, for fruit or huge mounds of Thanksgiving dressing or mashed potatoes!The Coral Sand color -- a sort of dusty cocoa rose -- is applied only to the inside of the bowl, with the rest of it a creamy white.Dimensions: Approximately 10 5/8 inches in diameter.
Condition: Very good, with a few minor flaws (low price reflects them) -- a 1/8" flake on the cream-colored rim that dips into the colored portion very slightly (see close-up photo), a 1/4-inch straw mark on the inside bottom, and a 1-inch shallow crack at the foot, possibly during manufacture. Otherwise, no chips or cracks, few scratches, and overall colorless crazing typical of older glazed pottery. None of these issues detract from its overall appearance. Except for the close-up, the photos show reflected flash which are not flaws.
