Vintage USA Universal / Royal Mayfair Cake Plate + 4 Dessert Bowls - Country Classic

This dessert set has a 1940s "down-on-the-farm" feel with gold trim and floral pattern on sturdy glazed earthenware. An elegant yet folksy "Sunday best" addition to your NBOP collection and/or to use for dessert!
A set of four vintage berry bowls, white background, ribbed sides, trimmed with 22-karat gold and decorated in autumn hues with a blue rose and orange and purple flowers in the center. Paired with these bowls is a large 12" cake plate with exactly the same decal as the bowls, encircled in gold.
The mark on the back of the bowls indicates that this is a Mayfair pattern produced in the USA by the National Brotherhood of Operative Potters. The replacements website lists it under Royal China USA, but has none in stock.
The plate also has the NBOP mark, and Golden Cavalier as the pattern. It was manufactured for Universal China. Not surprisingly, there are none of this pattern in stock at the replacements site either.
It is rare to find pieces like this in such excellent condition. They are at least 60 years old, almost mint and very collectible, with no nicks, chips, cracks, crazing, utensil marks or gold wear. There are virtually no signs of use.There is an incomplete decal on one of the bowls, done during the manufacture, affecting only the edge of the design.
There is a small glaze pop on the plate, visible only in bright light.SHIPPING fee is maximum for U.S. destinations. I will adjust your invoice to your location.
