Striking burled wood look in a large ceramic serving bowl, achieved through a "flowing glaze" technique).
Scalloped edges compliment the swirling harvest gold and burgandy design. In fact, it was called "Harvest Gold" when it was produced by the Blue Mountain Pottery company in Ontario, Canada. The mark on the back is an embossed set of three triangular pine trees with the word Canada below. BMP went out of business in 2004. I purchased this item at an estate sale and estimate that it was made in the mid to late 1960s when the harvest gold color was first popular. Dimensions: 10 inches across the top, 3 inches tall.
In very good to excellent condition with no cracks or scratches, and a single shallow rim chip (see second photo). Due to the swirled design it is not at all conspicuous.
Beautiful empty or full, this is a hard-to-find item with great decorative value!
